UFL & Las Vegas Locos: Working on Local Connections

The path to success for any sports team is connecting with the community and their fans.  The Las Vegas Locos and The United Football League have continued to get involved with the Las Vegas community over the last two weeks.

As we have reported in earlier articles, the Las Vegas Locos are on a mission to connect with Las Vegas this year.

Last week we have seen the major stars of the United Football League descend on our city to unveil the new uniforms for each of the teams.  This was covered in last week’s The Las Vegas Informer.  The evening after the event, the stars were present at The Pub at Monte Carlo for a fan party.  Present were such big names as Daunte Culpepper, Ahman Green, Tim Rattay and Adam Bergen.

(Specifics on all the stars present at the UFL events last week can be found in the Las Vegas Informer article located here.)

The party at The Pub also included the Locomotion, the new Las Vegas Locos dancers.  Fans were able to mingle with the players, have their pictures taken with every UFL star and get autographs.

On Thursday, July 29, the Las Vegas Locos held a meet-and-greet event with Tim Rattay, Las Vegas Locos Quarterback, at Sierra Gold at I-215 and Jones.  Both Tim Rattay and Adam Bergen, Las Vegas Locos Tight End, were present for autographs, as were members of the Locomotion.

On Friday, July 30, Tim Rattay took place in the ESPN 1100 Radiothon as part of The Caring Place event at the Palms.  Rattay hosted the 7pm hour.

(Specifics on The Caring Place event at the Palms can be found in last week’s Las Vegas Informer Editorial located here.)

On Thursday, August 5, Adam Bergen threw out the first pitch in the Las Vegas 51’s game versus the Memphis Redbirds.  Bergen was also on ESPN 1100 on Friday, August 6, 2010.

Adam Bergen, who is quickly becoming a fixture in the Las Vegas community, also has started a charity called “87 Plays” which will benefit local Las Vegas students.  The purpose of “87 Plays” is to raise money to save school athletic programs affected by budget cuts.

With these and more events planned for the coming weeks, the Las Vegas Locos are working hard to build connections in the Las Vegas community.
