John Legend has sold more than five million albums worldwide, garnered multiple hit singles (“Ordinary People,” “Used to Love U,” “So High,” “Save Room,” “Heaven,” “Another Again”), received countless awards (including nine Grammys) and has wowed rapt audiences across the globe. Critics have called him a genius, one of the most compelling and important singer/songwriters of this generation and an elegant ambassador of soul.

Legend’s most recent release Wake Up!, a collaboration with The Roots, was released in September and features covers of “socially-aware” songs. Since its debut, Wake Up! has received widespread attention with its timely release. Evolver, Legend’s 2008 studio release reached #1 on The Billboard R&B chart and topped The Billboard 200 peaking at #4. The album boasted the hit single “Green Light,” which featured OutKast’s Andre 3000. Other collaborations on that album included Pharrell and Kanye West. Millions heard the single “If You’re Out There” when Legend debuted the song during a historic performance opening the Democratic National Convention in August 2008 – a cry for social change and a great lead-in to the message of Wake Up!

Evolver came just two years after his Grammy award-winning recording of Once Again reached platinum status with the help of singles such as “Save Room,” and his debut Get Lifted (2004) took home two Grammy awards for Best R&B Album and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
