The Empowerment Column 2012 – week 5: “The Five of Hearts”

In geometry, 5 even sides of a circumference form the shape of a pentagon and the famous 5 point star is known as a pentagram.  The Tree of Life is divided into 5 phases and they are; the Seed (or Source), Root, Tree Branch and Fruit.   In music, the vocals are divided into 5 segments, Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Alto and Soprano.  Thus the number 5 was very popular in music from the Fifth Dimension to the Jackson 5.  We have 5 fingers on each hand to play the musical instruments and 5 toes on each foot in order to dance to our favorite tunes.  The number 5 represents advancing beyond the foundational structure that was established in the number 4.

The Five of Hearts is the ‘Freedom’ Card

The heart in the center of the card along with the other 4 symbolizes the central expression of Divine Love coming at us in or from all directions. Together the 5 hearts on the card line up to form the letter X meaning a target or source of Divine Love’s expression.  Five simply means change and change means progress.  Progress means to advance so right now we choose to open up our hearts to advance emotionally in ways that allow us to experience the power of love to a higher degree.

We are free to love and we are free to feel.  It is this powerful force of love that gives us the ability to forgive those who have wronged us.  It is the strong yearning or fire of desire burning inside our hearts that makes us love our family, friends, pets, pleasures, toys and joys.

On another worthy note involving the number 5, in Masonic architecture or the Freemasons who designed Washington DC, the number 5 had great significance in building our nation’s capitol (please see map below).  There is a pentagram drawn using the streets on the map below connecting right to the White House.  The Pentagon Building or the home for the Department of Defense is divided into 5 branches – they are the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.  The Washington Monument also stands exactly at 555 feet tall.

The Five of Hearts also means emotional growth and personal freedom.  Right now we unshackle ourselves from mistaken or erroneous beliefs that obstruct our ability to be free or to live in a sense of liberation and freedom.  We are free to love and free to be loved.  We are free to forgive and we are free to be compassionate.  The light of love is shining through us right now.  We choose to see this light radiating in each other.  We are free to love one another.  We are free to reciprocate love right back to the Giver and Provider of all things.  We are free to be obedient in faith, in service and in love.

We know that everything is working together for the greater good.  The true vision of the heart (whenever activated or used) sees beyond seeming human imperfections or unnatural defects and moves all the way to the point of seeing the absolute beauty, necessity, and Divine perfection within and beyond all things, even if it seems imperfect or inconvenient to others.  Today we shift into greater acceptance and allow the truth to continue to reveal itself in ways naturally designed to set us free, in ways to liberate us out of mediocrity, dullness or sleepiness and to awaken us into Spiritual Beings having a great and dynamic human experience.  This is why if we want to experience a divinely joyful hand-slap (in honor and celebration of this week’s number) then just walk up to a little kid with your hand out and a smile, and say “Gimme Five!”
