Las Vegas, Nev., February 2, 2012 – In the spirit of their motto of “Take Time to Be Kind”, both Hard Rock Cafe locations in Las Vegas are starting a year-long program called “Rock the Cause.”  The cafes will choose a specific cause each month and activate by doing volunteer work, raising funds or collecting items for different charitable organizations throughout Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.

The entire month of February has been dubbed “Heart Health Month,” with this, the two Las Vegas based cafes will perform activities all month long dedicated to this initiative.

“Our decision to make February Heart Health Month came from a plan to make part of our philanthropy about becoming healthy in 2012,” said Erin Ward, Senior Sales and Marketing Manager for Hard Rock Cafes in Las Vegas.  “In addition to performing some services in the community we plan to re-introduce healthy items that are currently on our menu, as well as get in better shape ourselves.  We can’t wait to get started.”

The following month-long initiatives will take place at Hard Rock Cafe locations in Las Vegas:

Heart Healthy Menu

During the month, servers at both Hard Rock Cafe locations will suggest menu items that are heart healthy.  The items already exist on the menu, and have for some time. Menu items such as the Greek Salad, Anti-Cobb Salad, Turkey Burger, and mixed berries for dessert will be suggested by the servers in order to promote the month-long initiative.

Marc Savard

Hypnotist Marc Savard, who performs at the V Theater in the Miracle Mile Shops, will hold a self-help meeting with Hard Rock Cafe employees to help them become more aware of healthy choices.  Staff members wanting to lose weight, stop smoking or just get into generally better health will, with the help of Savard, learn methods to help them achieve their personal goals.

Blood Drive

On Saturday, February 25, the Hard Rock Cafe location on Paradise and Harmon will hold a blood drive in conjunction with United Blood Services from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  That day, anyone donating blood will receive one free ticket to see Carrot Top live at Luxor Las Vegas.  Comedian Carrot Top will even be on hand to donate blood himself.  Anyone wishing to donate blood that day can go towww.unitedbloodservices.org and search for the sponsor code hardrockcafe to make an appointment or they can call 877-827-4376.
