The Empowerment Column 2012 – week 6: “The Six of Hearts”

By Rev. Thabiti

There comes a point for all of us when we must take responsibility, a point where blaming and excuses become absolutely useless.  The number 6 means correction, adjustment and responsibility.  In space, a physical box in the shape of a square or rectangle has 6 sides just like dice in casinos.  In time, 60 seconds equal a minute and 60 minutes equal an hour.  The 0 or Zero means The Absolute, therefore each minute and hour of our Life involves the number 6 plus the Absolute.  The Jewish Star of David has 6 points.  In arithmetic, 6 is the only number that is the sum and product of 3. There are 6 strings on a guitar and according to some scriptures it took 6 days to create the world.

The Six of Hearts is the ‘Commitment’ Card

As week look further into the meanings of this card we can choose to reexamine what are we committed to in our own individual lives.  Are we committed to peace, happiness, health and prosperity?  Are we committed to our significant other, our family, our jobs or businesses, our client’s success or customer satisfaction, or are we committed to spiritual development or to the growth of a church?  Are we committed to revenge or getting even?  It’s been said that what we are most eager to do as soon as no one else is looking reveals our true character and what we are most committed to.

The Six of Hearts also reminds us to reexamine and refresh our willingness to take personal responsibility for how we respond to anything that happens.  Blaming and excuses is the recipe that losers use to fail.  Persistence and determination is what you will hear from winners and the most successful.

Right now we accept full responsibility for how we respond to anything that happens.  We know that everything is working together for the greater good.  Crystal clear evidence proves that there is an order governing our existence that sees to it that every planet is exactly where it’s supposed to be at the exact and perfect time it’s supposed to be there.  This same order is what guided you to this article right now and to every experience still yet to come.

Today and in this very moment, we pause, step back and move away from all distractions of fear, anger, worry and guilt or anything else that has been obstructing our ability to enjoy this precious and wonderful gift of Life.  We choose to keep looking beyond until we see life for what it really is.  We choose not to be distracted by the birth pains so that we can see and focus on the beauty of the birth coming directly behind it.  This life is a Divine and Sacred gift designed specifically for the purpose of our soul to become spiritually awake.  We are Spiritual Beings having a wonderful human experience that proves we are made in the image and likeness of something beyond magnificent and beyond our ultimate perceptions.

Eternal Blessings

This week’s column is dedicated to my only and beloved baby brother Marquette III who passed away on Friday February 3rd.  We were very close and now I willfully return him back to the Giver and Provider of all things with no sorrow or selfish victimhood consciousness but in the spirit of gratitude only.  Mark will be missed by his son Marquette the IV and the rest of his friends and family whom he loved dearly and was extremely devoted and committed to.  He was a great gift to have in this life as not only my brother but a great friend who possessed the ability to make me laugh no matter what.
