The Natural Wonders Gallery®, featuring the works of three master artists – Art Wolfe, Robert Park and Robert Rotella – celebrated its grand opening inside The Shoppes at The Palazzo Feb. 16. The opening exhibition showcased 90 masterpieces — 30 from each artist.

During a private event before the opening, Wolfe was introduced and told the invited guests, “I walked into this gallery for the first time (Feb. 15) and was stunned by the quality of this presentation. I was really amazed.”

Before unveiling one of his pieces with proceeds to be donated to The Animal Foundation, Wolfe said, “We support a litany of environmental groups worldwide for the last 30 years.” Ten percent of all proceeds generated from the opening night were also donated to The Animal Foundation. Wolfe’s donated work is a composition of horses photographed in the Camargue marsh of the Rhone in France titled “Power and Grace.”

“They are fairly small in stature but they’re very spirited horses,” Wolfe said. “They live in such a very large wild area that though they were domesticated originally many of them have reverted to a semi-wild state. … There is a moment and there is spirit and a movement and an emotion to the moment so I thought it was a very appropriate image to donate to a very worthy organization advocating for wild animals and domestic dogs and cats.”

“Our vision for the gallery is to provide a world-class stage for a select collection of limited edition and artist proof work unseen and unequalled in photography,” Park said. “It could only be accomplished through the collaboration of our artists and the cooperation of the magnificent Shoppes at The Palazzo.

“I see Las Vegas becoming a destination for the newer emerging arts. There are several art galleries that have popped up recently in Las Vegas for the newer arts and collectors are now gravitating towards collecting,” he said.

The 5,000 square foot gallery will offer collectors the opportunity to acquire works from all three artists in limited editions of 100 or in artist proofs of five.

Park has an industrial design degree and designed the furniture in The Natural Wonders Gallery including a white leather couch that emulates the wave on a dab of toothpaste and named a nurdle. iPads are mounted throughout the gallery to showcase the various works of the three artists.

Park’s works combine color, composition and reverence for the spirit of the land as large format environmental portraits. Park’s work has been featured in numerous national publications including Forbes and Gannett magazines.

Wolfe is recognized for his mastery of color, composition and perspective while interpreting and recording the world’s disappearing wildlife, landscapes and native cultures. Wolfe’s award-winning television series, “Travels to the Edge,” has been broadcast in the United States, Asia, Europe, South America, and the Middle East.

Rotella specializes in macro imaging, bringing the unseen world to life traveling globally to capture such images. He is self-taught in photography and Michelangelo, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Wolfe have been his inspiration.

The conservation-minded artists are dedicated to worldwide conservation efforts and The Natural Wonders Gallery® has a projection for expansion in growing Asian and Middle Eastern markets as well as other U.S. locations.
