51s Fall to Sky Sox

The Las Vegas 51s fell to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Friday, June 15 in front of an announced crowd of 11,346.

The stands were packed with fans during a game which featured flat screen giveaways and fireworks.

The excitement started early for the 51s when Anthony Gose scored in the first off a Travis d’Arnaud ground out.

Colorado Springs answered in the second when Matt McBride homered off a line drive into left field.

The 51s extended their lead at the bottom of the inning Kevin Howard and Jonathan Diaz scored off a Adeiny Hechavarria single.

The action slowed for the next few innings.

The sixth inning proved huge for the Sky Sox with a score by Hernan Iribarren, which was immediately followed by a  Brandon Wood homer with McBride on base.

The final score for the game was 51s 3 to Sky Sox 4.

For the game each team had eight hits.

The 51s return to Cashman Field Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.  where they continue their home stand against the Sky Sox.
