Las Vegas author, lecturer and humanitarian Evangeline said that much of her work is inspired by everyday happenings and her acceptance of them being just the way that they are. She wrote “Simple Thoughts and Affirmations to Enrich Your Life” to help readers change how they experience various situations by giving them a new thought process and a few words to affirm a more positive existence. Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, “Simple Thoughts” is a compilation of inspirational affirmations and reflections.
“‘Simple Thoughts” is a culmination of many of my life’s experiences and a lot of listening and reflecting,” she said. “I wrote the affirmations to help readers reconnect with themselves by going within their own being. The words are meant to affirm a positive existence through a deeper understanding of the self and the development of more empowering thought processes.”
According to Evangeline, she discovered that she had intuitive powers at a young age and the true confirmation of her gift came as a result of metaphysical study she began more than fifteen years ago. Through reading and taking classes in healing modalities such as Reiki, she learned to help people shift their energy at the core level. Friends began to seek her counsel and she would be inspired to recommend certain books or actions for them to take.
“Friends would come to me with challenging situations and I would write affirmations for them,” she said. “Later on, I began to write reflections along with the affirmations to show how they related to my perception and experience. “Simple Thoughts” was actually written without a specific thought process and I feel that it reflects my openness and skills as a listener.”
Evangeline said that she has been able to make a difference in the lives of others because they can identify with the challenges she has faced. All of her experiences are gifts from the Universe and allow her to be less judgmental of people. On an energetic level, people feel that she is trustworthy and are willing to share their innermost thoughts with her.
In the spirit of humanitarianism that she said her writings reflect, Evangeline is an active volunteer participant with Safe Nest, a 501©3 non-profit organization that protects victims of domestic violence. In recognition of her commitment to strengthening our nation and for making a difference through volunteer service, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation has presented her its Volunteer Service Award for the last two years.
According to Evangeline, “Simple Thoughts” is the first of a series of affirmation books that she is planning to release in the near future.
“My books are the result of living and experiencing many things,” she said. “The topics that are channeled to me are unique and people can sense that what I write is genuine. I try to keep myself out of it all as much as possible.”
