It was a night of beauty when Cosmopolitan Connections presented “The Miss & Ms. NV United States Casting Call Party!” on Oct. 24.
This event served as a casting call for next year’s Miss and Ms. Nevada United States pageant. Also in attendance were L’Core Luxury Cosmetics, who gave demos and showcased their line of high end skin care products.
According to Yvette Brown, founder of Cosmopolitan Connections, she got the idea for this event from Tanice Smith, Miss and Ms. Nevada United States pageant director.
Yvette explained, “I was very excited when the gorgeous Miss and Ms. Nevada United States pageant director Tanice Smith approached me to help find her potential candidates for the pageant.”
“I thought the best way I could help her, help the pageant and our help our lovely ladies of Cosmopolitan Connections to meet, would be to throw a casting call party as the theme for one of our weekly events,” added Yvette.
One of the tips that Tanice gave to potential contestants is to be themselves.
“Be yourself, have fun and consider it a learning experience, and have that make you the best person you can be,” Tanice replied when asked for advice for those considering becoming a contestant.
The current Mrs. Nevada United States, Kari Deike, offered advice as well.
The big tip she had for potential pageant contestants is perseverance.
“Keep working on it,” Kari advised. “It is rare that somebody can walk in and just do it. It does take a lot of work.”
“And I think the important thing to remember is it is not about you by yourself, because with this title I try to get out there.” Kari added, “I am trying to be more a part of this community.”
“And it is not just about the crown, but the crown brings peoples’ attention,” Kari continued. “And it can bring more attention to these charities that I like to help.”
L’Core Luxury Cosmetics was on hand to demonstrate their products as well as answer any questions regarding their high end line. The addition of L’Core to the event was a perfect fit with the theme, according to Yvette.
“I got introduced to the L’Core Luxury Cosmetics brand through one of our regular guests, the beautiful Rane Rose who represents and markets L’Core, and also hosts her own show on the VAsianTV Network,” Yvette explained. “I thought that it would be a perfect fit to have both the pageant ladies and L’Core Luxury Cosmetics combined at this event, as beauty and cosmetics go hand in hand.”
“We are very excited to have L’ Core Cosmetics as our weekly event sponsors,” Yvette stated, “and we especially love when Rane brings along a bunch of special goody bags with deluxe size product samples inside for our guests to take home as prizes.”
Tony Banks, L’Core marketing manager and co-owner, was present at the event performing demonstrations of the product line.
Tony explained, ”The product offers a natural solution to facelifts, eyelifts and injections of natural Botox.”
“It is made of two main ingredients, which are diamonds and 24 karat gold,” added Tony.
The product offers immediate results when used, according to Tony, but also offers long term and cumulative results.
“They work on the muscles and recover your skin cells,” Tony explained further.

The event was held at The Beatles Revolution Lounge. According to Yvette, this has proven to be a great place to have successful events.
“All of our events at The Beatles Revolution Lounge, located in the Mirage, are always a big hit,” Yvette stated. “We love that the venue is intimate, and the step and repeat backdrop makes for great celebrity style photos taken by our event photographer Roger Bennett.”
“The lounge is also where I first met my boyfriend, Eric Auger, when he walked into one of my events back in early April of this year, so it will always be a special venue for me,” continued Yvette.
Coming up next for Cosmopolitan Connections is “The Halloween Party & Costume Contest!” on Oct. 31 which is being held in conjunction with the Las Vegas Informer. All Informer readers are encouraged to come to this event.
The event is being held at Via Brasil Steakhouse in Summerlin and begins at 6:30 p.m.
“Our next event will be in held in conjunction with the Las Vegas Informer which I’m tremendously excited about,” Yvette stated. “It’s our annual ‘Halloween Party and Costume Contest.’”
“Costumes are optional but the prize for the best costume is a Rodizio Dinner for two ($100 Value) and the prize for the person who brings the most friends on the night is a free Dam Helicopter Co. ride of the Hoover Dam for two people ($118 Value),” added Yvette.
“We have free entry and drinks specials so I’m looking forward to seeing some new faces, our brilliant regulars and also especially welcoming the readers of the Las Vegas Informer,” continued Yvette.
