The Empowerment Column 2012 – week 49: “The Ten of Spades”

Tomorrow moves forward, yesterday moves backward and we exist at the center between the 2 inside of a gift of Life called “The Present.”  We give thanks to the Giver and Provider of ‘this present’ and even more grateful for the gift of its own ‘presence’ throughout all other aspects of Life.  This forward and backward motion of Life is in cadence with the inhale and exhale movement of our breath traveling between our inner and outer worlds.  We are here to accomplish the 200% value of Life which means living a full 100% of the inner value plus the full 100% of the outer value.  We are now entering into the 49^th week of the year and the 49^th card in the deck is the Ten of Spades.

The Ten of Spades is the ‘Accomplishment’ card

In the deck of playing cards, Spades symbolize work, wisdom, health and spirituality.  The number 10 means accomplishment and success.  The number 1 symbolizes the individual or the Relative and the number 0 symbolizes the Divine or the Absolute.  The Ten of Spades also means Major Accomplishment and Spiritual Community.  The 10 Spades on the card represent our coming together as a spiritual community for ceremony, meditation and/or prayer.  The numbers 1 and 0 together is 10 and represents our reunion with God or our return home to Source or First Cause.

Returning home is comparable to completing a cycle.  Completing a cycle involves returning to origin or a starting point such as how we measure minutes, hours, weeks, years and the cyclical movement of the earth traveling around the sun.  This returning force can be seen under tall tress as the leaves up high complete their cycle to then wither and fall thus returning to the soil where its life cycle started.  All of our movement is from here to here or from now to now.  The seed’s moving from seed to seed is the same as our moving from here to here.  We move from day to day, night to night, week to week, month to month and from year to year.

The returning force is also found in the old saying “Whatever goes up must come down” or “whatever goes around comes around.”  Our individual life is happening for the purpose of our Souls to become more and more spiritually awake and this happens the more we see and understanding that our Life is an innocent mirror reflecting our attitude, perception and belief.  As this happens, we begin to release and stop all blaming and excuses.  We begin to know deeper that we cannot control everything but we can control our response to anything and how we respond to things that happen reveals the score of our progress or how we can check our maturity status.

Our major accomplishment today is to disconnect from the distractions of fear, anger, worry and guilt and return home to love, spiritual awareness, peace, forgiveness, compassion, joy, rest, freedom and power.  Today we have another chance to explore and discover how great Thou art and how good Life really is.  Our return home happens each time we re-enter the stillness and the silence happening at the core center of our being and its omnipresence is behind and underlying all that we perceive and experience.  We are absolutely certain that all things are working together for the greater good.  As an added gift, we are guided by the Light of increased clarity that comes from being more willing to relax in deep unshakable faith or as we simply and completely rest in Thee.
