Second Health, Healing & Happiness Conference Features Top Raw Food and Vegan Chefs

983961_552331541472403_377236404_nTop raw food and vegan chefs will be among the 20 world-class speakers at the second Health, Healing & Happiness conference presented by at the Springs Preserve. The two-day gathering will cover natural solutions that embrace the whole body, mind and spirit. Speakers will offer presentations about nutrition, fitness, spirituality, and personal development. The chefs will include: Mayra Trabulse; Sharynne Frazer; Ronnie and Minh Skurow; Stacey Dougan; Shane Stuart, and Kenny Chye.

Conference producer Ina Mohan was a certified chef and hospitality specialist before giving up her high paying corporate job to start What changed her life was her mother developed breast cancer and passed away from it, and her father was operated on colon cancer at about the same time. Taking charge of your life and healing from the inside out became her passion. “Taking medicine and cutting off body parts isn’t always the answer,” said Mohan. “People need to become more aware of what they can do naturally to stay healthy.”

Chef Mayra Trabulse also known as “Dr. Flavor” is a vegan powerhouse and owner of Pura Vida Bakery & Bystro. Trabulse has Vegas’ first and only 100 percent cruelty-free restaurant where she serves breakfast and lunch. She has been in the “healthy eating and cooking” industry for more than 11 years, holding certifications in sports nutrition, macrobiotic cooking, vegan, holistic, and feng shui cuisine.

Chef Sharynne Frazer is a raw food chef and nutrition educator, author and owner of Raw Food Express with multiple locations in Las Vegas. Frazer sells her own brands Raw Food Express, Healthy Fast Food To Go, and The WorRx – Your Prescription Smoothie. She is a Certified Living Food Chef and Teacher, who has studied with one of the world’s top five living food gurus Alissa Cohen and her “Living on Live Food Program™.” Frazer is a graduate of Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in Ft. Bragg, Calif., where she studied under internationally known 30-year raw food pioneer Cherie Soria.

Ronnie and Minh Skurow are husband and wife raw gourmet chef and living food philosophy experts who come from very different backgrounds. Minh is a second generation raw and living food chef who was born in Vietnam and grew up in total poverty as the youngest of eight children. She learned where to find edible foods and medicines in the jungle. Ronnie’s family operated casinos and he became a top ranking executive with some of the largest casinos in the world. In 2006 at the height of his career, he walked away and has dedicated his life to promoting raw and living foods. Together, they have sold more than 10,000 copies of their two award-winning DVDs “Going Raw” and “The Art of Living Food.”

Vegan and raw foods Chef Stacey Dougan is the co-founder of the “Oh Baby I Like It Raw” brand. Dougan has been a vegan and raw foods chef for more than 10 years and until recently was the resident vegan chef in the catering and banquets department at the Wynn Resort. Dougan conducts ongoing plant-based cooking classes and wellness seminars. Her passion for teaching stems from her own life-changing experience when she successfully cured herself with only fresh plant-based foods from a 26-year long battle with eczema and candida.

Raw mixologist Shane Stuart will join Chef Stacey for a presentation at the event. Stuart is a Certified Health Coach plus founder and owner of Las Vegas Wellness Institute, who has transformed himself into one of the nation’s most renowned out-of-the-box nutritional mixologists. Having the strong desire to improve people’s health and overall wellbeing, Stuart started experimenting with different blended concoctions to hide the taste of fruits and vegetables; the foods he knew so many people were neglecting to put into their baskets.

Chef Kenny Chye and owner of the Chinese restaurant Veggie House was the owner and chef of three Chinese restaurants in San Diego when he found out that his cholesterol was too high. He switched to a complete vegetarian diet and his health improved dramatically. Encouraged by his own discovery, he decided to open a restaurant serving vegan and vegetarian food in Las Vegas.

The weekend event will start with a Welcome Reception on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Panevino Ristorante. Panevino Ristorante at 246 Via Antonio Ave. is on Sunset Road in the Marnell Corporate Center.

On Saturday and Sunday, the event will begin at 8 a.m. at Springs Preserve. The Springs Preserve is located at 333 South Valley View Blvd.
