“Since becoming vegan, I get compliments from strangers on my shopping cart.”  – Patti Breitman

As you may have noticed already, I love bridges.  Not only are they functional and serve a very useful and necessary purpose, but they are often beautiful, majestic, and full of character.  Having grown up and lived most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was very near one of the most famous bridges of all…The Golden Gate Bridge.  Bridges have also become a life metaphor for me in terms of building bridges with people.  Just like the important connection between two points that bridges serve in daily life, it is also necessary for us to build bridges with others on a daily basis, so useful and necessary communication, interaction and flow of life can take place. As I am encouraged by the many changes that are happening in our world today, especially in a great movement towards conscious eating and living, I am so thankful for companies like Beyond Meat that are now building wonderful bridges to consumers and helping them to transition and live apart from the use of animal products in their daily lives.

I have recently been selected as an ambassador for Beyond Meat, and while that might not get me into any State Dinners at the White House (though you never know), it does give me an opportunity to build some bridges and let some more people know about the exciting things that are happening with our food today.  There is little doubt that we are in a battle for control of our food today.  There are strong and powerful corporate entities that are trying to control how and what we eat from birth to the grave, and are unfortunately contributing to helping people get to the grave much sooner than necessary.  The institution of factory farming over the past 50 years has contributed to this in a major way.  It is devastating to the lives of tens of billions of animals each year as well as our health and the environment. We are building a new paradigm away from this horrific reality that is going to help us take back control of our health, save our environment and the lives of so many animals along the way.    Beyond Meat is a company that is committed to building bridges to a meat-free lifestyle and has become a leading force in the exciting movement and change that we are part of today.

I first heard about Beyond Meat back in 2010 when they made the cover of Time Magazine and were touted then, as a company to keep an eye upon.  They were working on revolutionary animal-free meat products that were going to be a game-changer.  This is a company that is committed to making a difference while creating mass market solutions.  Their mission is to replace animal proteins with plant proteins while improving human health, impact climate change in a positive way, conserve natural resources and respect animal life.  As their products have come to market we have seen firsthand the powerful impact that they can have.  Whether it be the Southwest, Lightly-Seasoned or Grilled Chicken-free strips, their products have already had a significant impact on the marketplace and have built a wonderful bridge for people away animal meat products towards a healthier, cleaner and more ethical alternative.  The taste and texture of the Beyond Meat products is quite remarkable and has fooled some very prominent foodies in blind taste tests.  Why wouldn’t someone now want to enjoy a product that is not only better for you, but also better for the environment with no living creature being harmed in any way?

Beyond Meat was introduced into all of the Whole Foods stores nationwide and now can also be found in all Sprouts markets as well.  This coming month in February they are going to introduce to the stores an exciting new Beyond Meat product with their no-beef crumbles.  I know there are those who don’t partake of too many processed food products, no matter how minimal that processing might be.  While respecting that, I also encourage you to try the Beyond Meat products so you can help others who are contemplating or transitioning to conscious eating and living.  All of these products now being produced by companies like Beyond Meat are serving a very important purpose in supporting the almost 15% of the population that is now vegetarian, vegan or somewhere in transition along the way.  There are now so many exciting animal-free products in the markets today and still more being developed all of the time.  The meat and dairy alternatives, including milk, cheese and egg-type products that are now available are nothing short of revolutionary. It is a definite sign of the growing demand for these kinds of products as we move towards a more healthy and compassionate lifestyle.  With every wonderful product like Beyond Meat that comes to market, the excuses that people might have are going to dwindle.  Along with Beyond Meat, let us continue build a bridge to a healthier, cleaner and more compassionate life today and for the generations to come.

“I know that most men, including those at ease with problems of the greatest complexity, can seldom accept even the simplest and most obvious truth if it be such as would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions which they have delighted in explaining to colleagues, which they have proudly taught to others, and which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabric of their lives.” -Tolstoy

I feel pity for you Paul. Most people go insane trying to stay logical in thought. Such is how we hide the truth as people. Somewhere out there in this world is a person in tears. Lied to and labeled by their peers as being something that they are not. That person just died. Where were you? Did you try to dispel the lies of false definition of people or did you encourage the environment where people hear semantics so much that they use such expression to control and enslave the minds of others to lies for their own worldly gain?

I feel pity for Patti Breitman too. So sad that she lost sight of herself and her own human capacity for pity. This alone is far worse than a cart full of dead animals. Yet her demise is trumpeted here as success. The very horrific nature of needless animals slaughter, as bad as it is, does not compare to the horror of human who has lost their capacity for pity. For this is what allows needless animals slaughter in the first place; the lie of who we really are.

Had a dude the other day, living veg 30 years +, tell me that cancer could be cured with maple syrup and baking soda, prepared properly. To say my view was skeptical is mild. Perhaps you viewed my previous warnings, hours and hours of writing and thinking of how to point the way for you the same way. The evidence is in the pudding; my comment above, it’s actually true. I tried as hard as I could to humble myself. Yet, you are most important and defending insanity. Most people don’t see it. Such is how the truth is hidden in semantics. Even Andy Mars, with a phd in education said to me in an of course way that we are our actions. His understanding of reality was that messed up too from a lifetime of exposure to semantically lies. The thing is, I’ve done the same and worse. I’m not judging anyone. I’m stating what’s real because without the Most Important Truth in Life; Life is Most Important in Life, there is no logical foundation for any cause. Sure, we can still freely love each other in actions free of words, correctly, but to speak logically we must have logical sound foundation; truth. Without it, surrounded by people who feel uncomfortable with this vegan stuff, we face constant bombardment of attacts to the logic of our choice not to kill and also of our desire to persuade others to our line of thinking. In the end, many to most lose their minds trying to figure it all out just enough to flawlessly rise above any challenge to killing needlessly, with our words.

This is something I’ve learned the hard way. I care if you feel hurt. It’s better this way than you loosing you mind or worse later.  It’s all out of love. If you can do a better job of exposing it to people than to remind people that they really are most important and that remembering/accepting the most important truth in life’s choices really is worth more than a billion dollars, great. It’s legit. Your mistake with labeling others is only one example. Every mistake bares the same hurtful fruit somewhere, even if we don’t see it. As long as you have that, you will shine. You’re most important. That’s your root. We must all try and remember that is also true for other life. If we must remind each other, than we must. Any words attempting to define another that imply that we/anyone can somehow be less are always words that are lies.

I’ve learned a lot from you and through you.

Yet, I tossed a whole bucket of water on you in public and left you to stand in clothes so wet that everyone can see you as naked. It compares to having all your clothes burned away in a flash. There is nothing protecting you from view of your peers. Yet, I hand you a new garment. One that does not betray the wearer in conversation about getting the good done.

Your not the first. Your not the last. People lose their minds doing this stuff. I got past it for now. We all can break and many break easier than others. So, I must speak up even if it’s hard to put the words together in type. It’s for real. We must all yeild to the truth or our way will be filled with disaster. Seriously, do you see any person on earth able to challenge the most important truth in life without lying? It’s that important. Most Important. Take a knee and accept the cleansing water. Rise and see yourself clothed in a new garment worthy of your love. Live is what you shall have if you give life. Not accepting the truth makes for a long trip to the bottom alive. The bottom has a nasty reputation and for good truthful reason. That’s completely avoidable. There is only one Way, Truth and Life. There are no exceptions. We can do it with love. If we dare speak for the truth then we should accept the truth when reminded by our peers when the truth of their words can be easily verified. We need each other very much to avoid the pitfalls. We all fall short, but the challenge is worthy of us as we really are most important.

Keep it real brother. Your article provides my life with much joy. This is your choice and your responsibility to stay truthful with. Keep up the good stuff. That matters too. Many may have learned reading this. What a gift you give. No more sacrifices!!!! The price is paid. Save the wood. 🙂
