We live in a fast paced society. It seems like time has contracted when we always have had 24 hours in a day. We are responsible for so many things in our lives. Sometimes, we forget or we make excuses for not taking time to care for ourselves. We owe it to ourselves to take care of our mind, body and spirit. If we don’t take ourselves, we will pay the consequences sooner or later.

There are many spas here in Las Vegas. Many of them are great and have a very nice ambience. I have visited many of them over the years. Many of them are very expensive and can be cost and sometimes time prohibitive for people. However, you don’t need to spend a lot of money in these spas to create a spa like atmosphere in your own home.

Sacred self-care is something that anyone can do with little or no money.

Candles, bath salts, essential oils or aromatherapy and soothing music can all be bought with little money.

Meditation, yoga and walking are all activities that you can do at home to relieve stress and does not cost any money. As far as making time for these activities, you can set your alarm clock 15 minutes early. I noticed that the early morning hours is very peaceful as most people are not up yet. It is very peaceful and grounding to watch the sun rise.

When you pamper yourself you empower yourself to care better for others. We all know that on airplanes they always say put the mask on you first. You can take care of others until you take care of yourself first.

Your body is a divine creation worthy of  tender, loving care and attention. Giving it rest, nourishment, movement, and attention is something the body needs and wants.

You can buy rose petals and some epsom salts and baking soda and soak your feet in a tub. You can also do this as a bath. Rubbing lotion into your feet and massaging is something that your feet will thank you. Also, walking in the grass barefoot for 10-20 minutes will help ground you and help rid yourself of the EMF’s we accumulate when we are around computers, cell phones, etc all day.

Make yourself a cup of herb tea and drink it slowly and savor it. Take time to eat and really taste the food you are eating.  Eat off the “fine china” and drink in a wine glass or a nice glass.

Buy yourself a pretty journal and write it in your affirmations, things you are grateful for, your wishes and dreams, etc. Let your imagination run wild.

It is important to take time out for yourself to relax, regenerate and rejuvenate. You are worth it.
