The two time defending division champion Las Vegas Legends enjoyed a 5-3 victory in their first preseason game of the 2014-2015 season against the Mexico National Team this past Sunday. The crowd at Orleans Arena was loud and enthusiastic for all four quarters even though the Legends didn’t get on the board until the second period.

The Mexico National Team scored first blood in the first quarter with a goal by Omar Santillan. The game continued with a smothering defense, as the second quarter produced no goals as it went into the first half at 0-1. By the time the second half started The Legends were hungry for a goal, which Ivan Simental (#16) achieved with less than a minute into the second half. With key saves by Zeke Sanchez and a monumental effort of teamwork climaxing in three additional goals in the quarter, the third quarter ended 4-1 Legends. The fourth quarter was a head to head battle as Las Vegas local, Rigo Garcia (#20), scored the fifth goal for the Legends ending the game with a 5-3 victory. With 18 shots on goal and five goals score by five different players, the Las Vegas Legends teamwork was prevalent in their first matchup of the season.

On Sunday, October 26 at 3 p.m., The Las Vegas Legends will take on Turlock Express in the official open opener game of the season.
