The Empowerment Column 2015 – The Power of Knowledge

By Rev. Thabiti

Knowledge is the bridge connecting the Knower and the Known.  Through Knowledge comes organizing power.  Lack of Knowledge can obstruct progress or make us appear stupid or ignorant.  Knowledge is why we know how to do things.  Knowledge is what we get when we observe or study things.  Knowledge is the key that expands our possibilities.  The more things we know how to do the more options we have.  The more things we know how to do the more value we can offer.  Once we possess the knowledge it can never be taken away.  If you want the kind of knowledge that gives you a superior advantage in your own life then go to thepower.org/freebook  to get your FREE COPY of

There are two ways by which we gain knowledge.  The first is ‘intellectual understanding’ and the second is ‘direct experience.’  We need both to have the whole, holy or full value of the knowledge because one without the other is incomplete knowledge.  For example, we can attend classes, listen to lectures, read books and watch videos on swimming but until we get in the water and have the direct experience of swimming then we don’t know fully what swimming is.

The goal of life is fulfillment meaning that everything that lives simply wants to be satisfied.  Fulfillment comes from achievement.  Achievement comes from right action and right action comes from right knowledge.  Knowledge is structured in consciousness and knowledge is different in different states of consciousness.  Knowledge plus action equals results or outcomes whereas knowledge without action equals potential.

Within the Sea of Knowledge there is all that we know and there is all that we don’t know.  Do we know how to love?  Do we know how to be grateful?  Do we know how to be healthy and happy? Do we know how to prosper?  Do we know how to live or are we just surviving?  Knowledge is the way and how we know anything.

Knowledge taught in educational institutions has three different levels.  There are the Basic level, intermediate and advanced levels of knowledge.  If you’re reading this right now then obviously you are operating at the advanced levels.

Advance knowledge or knowledge in advance is known as or called foresight.  Planning is vital to success but we cannot plan for anything without the ability to look ahead from where we are.  This is why it is said that “forewarned is forearmed.”
