Jordy Nelson

Jordy Nelson tore the ACL in his right knee during the Green Bay Packers preseason matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Nelson fell to the ground after catching a pass by Aaron Rodgers during the opening drive of the game.

He will have surgery later this month. Injuries such as these often take eight-to-12 months to recover after surgery.

Nelson has not missed a game in the past two seasons. He has only missed a total seven games throughout his career.

The loss of Nelson for the Packers is a big loss, but expect Randall Cobb and Davante Adams to step up to their new No. 1 and No. 2 positions.

Even so, the Packers lose a premiere receiver in the league. Last year, he caught 98 receptions for 1,519 yards.

Michael Vick

Michael Vick has signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a backup to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

The Steelers were light on quarterback depth as backup Bruce Gradkowski was placed on injured reserve after his finger surgery. Gradkowski may also require surgery on his shoulder as well. His finger and shoulder were injured during the preseason matchup against the Packers.
