Las Vegas Legends Soccer – A Week in Review

The Las Vegas Legends soccer club of the MASL were able to go 2-1 in last weeks matchups against Baja, Ontario, and Turlock to stay at the top of the west division of the Major Arena Soccer League.

In their first match last week against the Turlock Espress which took place at the Las Vegas Sports Park, the Legends started extremely slow and sloppy. Turlock was able to take a 3-1 lead going into the half before Las Vegas put together five unanswered goals to take a 6-3 lead in the third quarter. Turlock then answered back with three unanswered goals of their own tying the game at six. in the fourth quarter, Las Vegas was able to score three out of four goals to win the game by the final score of 9-7. Boris Gujic had a hat trick in the game while Eric Guzman and newcomer Nestor Hernandez both added two goals themselves.

After the Turlock win Las Vegas headed on the road to face of against a tough Ontario Fury team. After a first half feeling out process with much of the possession going in favor of the Fury, the score was tied at three. In the second half goals went back and forth between the two squads which mad the game come down to the last minute with the Legends holding a 7-6 lead. With the extra attacker on for Ontario, the fury were able to score the game tying goal and send it into overtime where the Legends were not as lucky, giving up the game winner to Israel Sesay.

The last match of the week was against Baja at the Las Vegas Sports Park. The Legends were able to win this game handily by the score of 9-4. two goals and three assists were scored by Hiram “Pollo” Ruiz as the Legends dismantled Baja to stay atop the West division.

The next home game for Las Vegas will be on December 19th at 7:35 pm against the Tacoma Stars.
